Shawn Joseph Strong, 31 of Redby and the Bear Clan began his spirit journey on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Shawn was born November 16, 1990, in Bemidji to Marilee Strong and Sheldon Bailey.

Shawn grew up in the communities of Bemidji and Redby, attending school in Bemidji and Red Lake. He worked at Seven Clans Casino and enjoyed going to the casino. Shawn especially liked to be with his family, spending time with them whenever he could.

Family welcoming Shawn to the spirit world are his son, Elliot Tourville, great grandparents, Harvey and Alvina Strong, Sr., grandparents Harold and Wanda Graves, Sr., uncles, Harvey Strong, Jr., Raymond Strong, Aunt Mona Bailey and stepfather Brian Crowe.

He will be missed by his mother, Marilee (Marlin) Strong and father, Sheldon Bailey; son Shawn Strong, daughter Marley Paddy; grandmothers, Beverly Strong, Bernadine Bailey; sisters, Fawn (Torey) Strong, Maria (Douglas) Crowe, Felicia Lussier, Dshel Bailey, Dshaye Bailey; special friend, Sheena Kingbird; aunts, Angela Strong, Nicole Neadeau, Merri Jo Barrett, Debbie Graves, Star Kingbird, Missy Strong, Billie Jean Strong, Kathleen "Jo" Dudley, Cheryl Stately, Suki Bailey; uncles, Michael Strong, J.R. Graves, Kenny Graves, Steve Strong and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The wake service for Shawn will begin at 3:30 on Wednesday, February 16 and continue until his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18 at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN with Father Jerry Rogers officiating. Helping to lay Shawn to rest are Jon Raish, Harold Graves, Jr., Kenny Graves, Todd Barrett, Randy Barrett, Douglas King, Jr., Torey Jones, Sr .; alternate casket bearers are Sheldon Bailey and Nick Strong. Honorary casket bearers are Christina Donnell, Sheena Kingbird, Kayleen Counoyer, April Smith, Eileen Smith, Janeen Donnell, Felicia Lussier, Maria Crowe, Fawn Strong, Felix Cloud and Fabian Cloud. Interment will be at the Red Lake Catholic Cemetery.
