Randy E. Miller Jr., "Little Thundering Red Thunderbird" Wakini'yan Duta Zitkana Cikana in Dakotah and Misko Animikii'binesiins in Ojibwe. Randy who was 52 of Fort Totten, ND and White Earth MN passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Essentia Health in Fargo ND.

The Wake for Randy will be on Friday, January 21, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Fort Totten Recreation Center with a time of prayer and remembrance at 7:00 p.m. The procession to Fort Totten will leave on Friday from City Plaza, Devils Lake at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Recreation Center with Gerard Thompson officiating. Burial is in the Native American Cemetery, rural St. Michael at a later date.

Randy Earl Miller was born on December 27, 1969 in Bagley MN, the son of Randy Miller Sr. and Mary Oppegard. He grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation and the White Earth Nation. He graduated from the Circle of Life High School in White Earth. He later continued his education, and was a certified Peer Support Specialist.

Randy held various jobs in his life. He worked as a Fire Fighter, later at Gleason Construction and most recently at Sioux Manufacturing. He was a jack-of-all-trades, worked to support his family, but due to increasing health issues was forced to retire at an early age.

Randy and his precious Athelia Harrison have shared 22 years of life, love and happiness together. Through the good times and the hard times, they have worked together to overcome the difficulties of Randy's many health issues.

Randy loved to sing and sang with Eagle Thunder Singers whenever he could. He enjoyed cooking and sharing his food with family and friends. He treasured his family, loved them with all his heart. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He considered so many people as his adopted family and loved them dearly.

Randy is gone from us much too soon. He will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him.

Randy's loving family include his dear Athelia Harrison; sons Joshua Jerome, Levi Jerome, Jacob (Jesse) Miller, Brandon (Miranda) Harrison, Isaiah (Faith) Miller, Elijah Miller, Tyler (Princess) Harrison and Marquis Miller; daughters Cierra (Aaron) Miller, Taylor Bunker-Tallaferro and Tiana Miller; many precious grandchildren; brother Oscar Oppegard; sisters Jenna Miller, Yolande Thompson, Angela Thompson, Sarah Thompson, Maggie Oppegard and Jennifer Boswell-Longie; grandmother Catherine Howard; mother-in-law Florene Harrison; sisters-in-law Madeline Harrison, Magdeline Harrison, Blossom Harrison and Robin Harrison; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He joins in death his mother Mary Oppegard, grandparents Oscar and Gertrude Oppegard, grandson Uriah Miller, sister Jodi Miller, uncle Oscar Oppegard Jr., niece Brooke Miller, nephew Ricky Miller, sister-in-law Roxanne Harrison and brother-in-law Lyle Harrison.

Pallbearers will be Mike Weaver, Sonny Wadena, Marty Greywater, Morris Azure, Sam Azure, Cecil Longie, Joe Williams, Gilbert Longtail, Brandon Langstaff and Lee Oppegard. Honorary Bearers are Arthur Little, Shannon Wadena Jr., Charles Zornes, Brenden Belgarde, Kevin Brown, Myron Harrison, Steve Cavanaugh, Jeremy Londo, Jason Bellanger, Delbert Harrison and Ambrose Thompson Jr. Randy had so many friends that he cherished. If we forgot to name someone, please forgive us, it was not intentional. He loved you all.
