PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for planning and conducting internal audits for Seven Clans Casinos; Warroad, Thief River Falls, and Red Lake. Under the supervision of the Director of Internal Audit and the Tribal Treasurer. Full-time position with benefits. Salary; DOQ

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Conducts assigned internal audits at all properties in accordance with the standards for the Professional Practices of Internal Auditing

• Determines auditing procedures to be used, considering established audit schedules, statistical sampling and the use of electronic data processing

• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to create spreadsheets

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word Software

• Evaluate the effectiveness of the department under audit through the application of knowledge of casino operations, financial management, National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Controls and an understanding of auditing techniques

• Obtains, analyzes, and appraises evidentiary data as a base for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of performance of the activity being reviewed

• Identifies deficiencies and make recommendations for improvement to comply with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

• Ability to make oral and/or written presentations to the management of the Red Lake Gaming Board during and/or at the conclusion of the examinations, discussing the deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to improve operations and reduce cost

• Prepare written reports, expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency with which activities are carried out

• Assist in the investigations of variances to identify problem areas, employee deficiencies and recommend solutions

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates Degree in Accounting or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree

• Must pass a criminal background check, without any felony convictions

• Must possess a Valid MN Driver's License and Auto Insurance; provide proof of a clean driving record

• Must meet the licensing requirements for the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians, National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), and the Tribal/State Compact for Gaming

• Agree to maintain drug-free workplace and submit to employee drug testing

• Physically capable of handling job requirements and working long hours when needed
