Candlelight vigil planned for Nevaeh Kingbird, police dispel rumors around disappearance

The Bemidji Police Department is seeking the public's help in the investigation of missing 15-year-old Nevaeh Leigh Kingbird. Contributed.

BEMIDJI -- A candlelight vigil is planned for Nevaeh Kingbird, a 15-year-old who has been missing in the Bemidji area since late October, while police attempt to dispel rumors on social media regarding her disappearance.

The vigil is 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at the Lake Bemidji waterfront near the Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues.

In a release on Friday, Dec. 31, the Bemidji Police Department said they've conducted numerous interviews, searches and more. Family and community members have also organized a number of searches as well.
