...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph on Monday.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central and northwest Minnesota.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. Widespread snow and blowing snow will significantly reduce the visibility.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of eastern North Dakota, west central and northwest Minnesota.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

A potent winter storm will impact the region, persisting at least through Monday afternoon. Most areas will see a 90 percent chance of 6 inches or more of snow. Higher amounts up to 12 inches are possible. Travel will become very difficult across a large portion of the area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

The winter storm will continue into Monday, with increasing northwest winds expected through the day. Blowing and drifting

snow will further impact travel conditions.

An additional system will provide snow chances Tuesday into Tuesday night. Travel impacts are likely, with a 70 percent

chance for most areas to exceed 2 inches of snow.

Towards mid week, temperatures will rapidly fall below zero. Dangerous wind chills approaching 40 degrees below zero appear likely Wednesday through Friday.
