Bernard Andrew TwoHearts Jr. (Canté Nupa) 46 of Bismarck formerly of the Spirit Lake Nation passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Sanford Health in Bismarck ND.

A Wake will be held at the Dakota Baptist Church, Fort Totten ND on Friday, December 17, 2021, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a time of prayer and remembrance at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services for Bernard will be on Saturday, December 18th at the church at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Young officiating. Burial will be in St. Jerome's Cemetery.

Bernard Andrew was born on February 11, 1975, at Bismarck ND, the son of Bernard TwoHearts Sr. and Kathleen Longchase. He grew up in the Cannonball area, attended school there and in Mahnomen, Minnesota. He was a self-taught chef and worked as a short order cook and chef in several restaurants in the Bismarck area.

Bernard enjoyed his work, but he especially enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.

Bernard's loving family include his Dad Bernard (Virginia) TwoHearts Sr.; children Destiny TwoHearts and Andrew TwoHearts; sisters Krista TwoHearts and Jessica TwoBears; mother of his children Bonnie; uncles Cletus TwoHearts and Isaac TwoHearts; aunts Carolyn (Kermit) WalkingEagle, Pattie TwoHearts, Cathy TwoHearts, Becky TwoHearts, and Susan Gagnon; paternal grandmother Cora Iceman and many cousins.

Those who preceded him in death. Mother Kathleen Longchase, brother Gerald TwoHearts, paternal grandparents Michael and Rachel (Smith) TwoHearts, maternal grandparents Joseph and Christine Longchase, uncles John, Jerome Sr., Michael Jr., Francis Sr., David "Ronald," Timothy Sr. and Norman TwoHearts, Doug and Paul Longchase, aunts Anne and Julia TwoHearts, Thelma and Theola Longchase and many beloved cousins.

Pallbearers will be Michael B. Smith, Edward LaVallie, Tim TwoHearts Jr., Sheldon DogSkin, Robert "Robbie" Cavanaugh, Hank Longchase Jr., Brian Delzer and Corey TwoHearts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Theresa Brown, Ernestine Foote, Joann Smith and Nathan Smith and families, Dallas Sr., Raybert Sr., and Donelda Littlewind and families, Marcella Green and Bernadine Littlewind and families, Roman Cavanaugh and family, Dan "Bibbs" Dubois Sr. and family, McKay Families, Hank Longchase Sr. and family, Susan Gagnon and family, Juanita and Theodora Maye, Lorraine Jahner (grandmother of his children), many other cousins.

Cuthead Sioux Drum Group and any other Drummers and Singers are welcome to share their songs in memory of Bernard.
