New Beltrami County K9 Team enters service

Bemidji, MN –December 14, 2021: Please welcome K9 Rip as the newest member of our Beltrami County Sheriff's Office family. K9 Rip entered service on November 24, 2021 with Deputy Tony Hanson being his handler. K9 Rip is a 20 month old Belgian Malinois who came to us from Poland. Deputy Hanson and K9 Rip recently graduated from their initial 14 week training regimen and are certified by the National Police Canine Association in both patrol operations and narcotic detection.

The Belgian Malinois breed make excellent police service dogs because of their high drive, above average intelligence, protective attributes, speed and agility, and hardworking demeanor.

Welcome back Tony and welcome aboard K9 Rip!
