ELDERLY MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To be responsible for day-to-day management and fiscal responsibility for the program and for the development of operational plans to achieve program goals and objectives. Reports to Executive Administrator, full time with benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Responsible for the staff assigned and they adhere to the preventative maintenance and repairs of the elderly homes as necessary

• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors

• Provides clear direction and establishes performance expectations to achieve continuous improvement; manages staff performance, including evaluation, recognition and performance correction

• Recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors

• Assess and evaluate a maintenance program and service plans to determine their effectiveness in reaching and serving the elderly

• Daily reporting of time, progress and materials used through electronic reporting

• Organizes and supervises crew members to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames; on time and within budgets

• Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards

• Identify and collect information on federal, state and tribal programs available for the Indian elderly

• Required to draft policies and program development reports that may respond to elder needs and which may be beneficial for a report to the Red Lake Tribal Council

• Establishes and maintains high-profile visibility throughout community for Elderly Maintenance and Summer Crew

• Responsible for making program decisions, budget projections and provide supervision to Elderly Maintenance and Summer Work Crews

• Customer Service skills with personnel, the public and administration

• Speaking skills for providing clear orders, explain information to the elderly and personnel

• Resolves conflict or miscommunications quickly and amicably

• Responsible for work orders, purchase and stock levels of equipment

• Responsible for procurement, inventory control and keeping supplies readily available for projects

• Demonstrates initiative and performs all other activities as business deems necessary

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.A. Degree in Business Administration or four (4) years of work experience in the related field

• Ability to direct staff so projects are completed in a timely manner

• Ability to hire staff with the knowledge of all phases pf carpentry, electrical, wiring, plumbing, appliance repair and heating as related to the needs at the Elderly's place of residence

• Proficiency in fiscal and budgetary management

• Superior interpersonal communication skills

• Must possess the ability to work independently

• Valid Minnesota Driver's License and Auto Insurance

• Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug test and comprehensive background check.
