Raymond Lee Barrett, Sr., 62, of Red Lake, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at his home.

Raymond was born September 28, 1959, in Red Lake, MN, to Frank and Gladys (Feather) Barrett. He was raised in Red Lake, attended school and then enlisted in the US Army. He served at Ft. Benning, Georgia as a paratrooper and on receiving an honorable discharge, Raymond returned home. He worked for several years in Minneapolis and moved back to Red Lake where he worked in both the Thief River Falls and Red Lake casinos in security. Raymond was also a logger and mechanic and a handyman with many skills, which he used to help others.

Raymond is remembered by his family as lovable and liked to laugh. He was a jokester and, in the words of his sister, he was "a pain in the butt." His niece Tonya writes that she "always loved conversations with Uncle Ray. He was very caring and also very protective. Going to miss you. We love you."

Raymond is survived by his sons Robert Barrett, Raymond Barrett, Jr., Ter Rae Two Crow, and Raymond Barrett II; daughter Sasha Barrett; one grandchild; brothers Frank, Charles (Debbie), Mike, Terry and Daryl Barrett; sisters Florence Larson, Maxine (Robert) Folstad, Peggy (Richard) Grundmeier, Kellie Barrett, Jean Barrett (Marsha Neadeau), and Becky Barrett; and special friend Marilyn Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Gladys Barrett; sister Annette Barrett; brothers Gene, Robert and Adolph Barrett; and many other relatives.

A wake for Raymond will begin on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 4:00pm at the Little Rock Center, Red Lake, MN, and will continue until his service on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 7:00pm with Fr. John Christianson officiating. A meal will be served on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 12:00 Noon. Casketbearers will be Randy Grundmeier, David Barrett, Michael Barrett, Alan Barrett, Robert Barrett, and Cody Hinden. Honorary casketbearers will be all his nieces and nephews. There will be a spring burial in the Barrett Family Burial Grounds.
