Elaine Ann “Honey” (Cook) Blanchard age 85, passed away on November 19, 2021, at the Jourdain/Perpich Extended, Red Lake, Minnesota. She was born on January 27, 1936, in Red Lake, Minnesota to Teddi and Ida (Sayers) Cook. Elaine attended St. Mary’s and Red Lake High School. She later moved to Chicago and stayed there a few years. She then met her husband Donald “Doc” Blanchard and later moved to Odanah, WI where she lived until her sickness and wanted to come home. Her and her husband were married for 50 years but were together a few years before marriage also. Elaine worked for Odanah head start and worked as a PCA worker for a few years. Elaine “Honey” will dearly missed by all her family. She loved to go to the casino, playing bingo and enjoyed all her nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her granddaughter, Molly, and her son Tony. She was known for her “tough actions” when she wanted to get “tough.” The nurses all enjoyed her at the Jourdain/Perpich Extended Health.

Preceded in death by her parents, Teddi and Ida Cook, husband Don Blanchard, Hank, Billy and Donald Cook; sisters Vi Donnell, Ina Mae McNeal, Amelia Carson, Roberta Crowe, Barbara Cook; Nieces Michelle “Mushy” Spears, Diane Cook, Carla Brun, Shirley McNeal, Miranda Crowe, Lisa Cook; Nephews Don Cook Jr., Mike McNeal, Joey Pelchat Sr, Joey Pelchat Jr., Craig Cook, Darren Cook, Len Donnell “Tubby”, Brian “Bum” Crowe, Raymond Teller.

Survived by brothers, Fabian “Nickel” Cook; sisters Mary Ellen Cook, Sammi Joe Braddock; son Tony Barker; grandchildren Molly Barker, Allison and Anthony Gordon, Delilah Bellanger.

A wake for Elaine will begin at 1:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2021, at the Red Lake Community Center, Red Lake, Minnesota and will continue until the funeral service at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 23, 2021, also at the Community Center. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Red Lake, Minnesota.
