Denise Yvonne Oakgrove Deer, journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday, November 15, 2021.

She was born on April 12, 1985 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Sharon Oakgrove Ocampo and Andrew Gayton.

Denise Oakgrove and Sonny Deer were married on May 23, 2009 and welcomed four children to their family; Kija, Sonny Jr. "Bugsy", Shilo and Koda.

She loved meeting people and was very friendly. She helped everyone she could. Denise loved being a wife and mother and was very protective when it came to her family. She was always laughing and joking around. Her smile was as beautiful as she was. Most of all, Denise was a good, down to earth person – one in a billion!

Denise loved her Laffy Taffy and Pepsi. She'd blast her music really loud and danced around. She loved to look pretty and dress up. She will be missed dearly and will be remembered every day!

Survived by her husband Sonny Deer Sr., children Kija, Sonny Jr. "Bugsy", Shilo and Koda; grandmother Erma Beaulieu (Calvin); mother-in-law Amy Thick; mother Sharon Oakgrove Ocampo (Victor); Auntie Jewel Oakgrove (Ed); uncle Craig Oakgrove; many cousins; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by grandfather Arlyn "Porky" Oakgrove; auntie Susan Oakgrove; & cousin Edward "Eddie" Larson.

Casket bearers will be Craig Oakgrove, Michael Larson, Brandon Larson, Allen Monroe, David Olson and Victor Ocampo.

Funeral service for Denise Deer will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at 12:00 Noon at Church of the Blessed Kateri. Shawn Phillips will officiate.

An all-night wake will take place Monday, November 22, 2021 beginning at 7 PM at Church of the Blessed Kateri.
