Vikings ride strong second half to a 27-20 victory over the Chargers

Justin Jefferson finished with 143 receiving yards and Tyler Conklin caught two touchdowns from Kirk Cousins as the Vikings broke a two-game losing streak

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - The Vikings had lost two in a row, traveling west after perhaps their most tumultuous week of the season, and were set to play the Chargers without Anthony Barr, Michael Pierce, Danielle Hunter, Harrison Smith or Patrick Peterson.

It did not seem like the setting where the Vikings would finally choose to make things simpler for themselves. But they headed home from the West Coast with a win because they finally got the ball to their best offensive playmakers.

Justin Jefferson's biggest plays on a nine-catch, 143-yard day came as the Vikings rallied from a 17-13 deficit and denied the Chargers a chance for a late comeback. Adam Thielen's most important play of the day came on a late third down, and Dalvin Cook had the fourth-down run to seal the game. There was no late comeback, only Cousins in victory formation, at the end of a 27-20 win.
