Shelby of Oglala, SD, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, SD and Prairie Island, MN started her journey to the spirit world surrounded by her family on Wednesday evening.

Shelby, often called Shelbs by her family and friends, could often be found swimming, riding ATV's, playing basketball, making TikTok's, camping and fishing. Shelby enjoyed those things as much as she disliked Walmart and not having her hair braided while in the hospital.

She most enjoyed spending her days visiting around, often protesting sleep so she could hang out longer. She was like any other teenager who liked riding around in cars and raising cane on ATV's.

Shelby had a car named Betty back home in Pine Ridge that she liked to "jump".

Shelby was a very simple and humble young lady. She was a proud Oglala Lakota. She was always helpful to her Grandma's, Aunties, Siblings, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. She carried a quiet, strong, and fun spirit that will be greatly missed.

Shelby is survived by her father Kyle (Becky) Hinsch, brother Taylor Rouillard and sisters Shenal Hinsch, Athena Negrete and Eva Hinsch, niece Mia Rouillard, nephew Zayden Western Boy and many cherished cousins, friends and her many fur babies.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sheryl Rouillard, Grandma Terri Rouillard, Grandma Goldie Starr, Grandma Eva Roberts, her Uncle (Barz) Lloyd Jr. Rouillard, Nephew Tyson Rouillard and her best friend Tracey Dreaming Bear.

Her wake will be held at the Prairie Island Indian Community Center starting November 13, 2021 at 2pm through November 16, 2021 at 2pm. A one-day wake at the Maka Sa Chapel November 17, 2021 with a burial at the Rouillard Family Cemetery on November 18, 2021.
