Wells Technology Opens New Branch at Oshkiimaajitahdah Center in Redby, MN

Ribbon Cutting Wednesday November 10 at 11 a.m.

According to Andy Wells, Sr. of Wells Technology in Bemidji, the manufacturing company will partner with Oshkiimaajitahdah Center in Redby, MN in machinists training.

The manufacturing industry across America is in great need of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinists for production jobs says Wells.

"Therefore, Wells Academy, the Native American skill training school for Wells Technology, has opened a new branch in the Oshkiimaajitahdah center in Redby, MN.", said Wells. "We have relocated two of our modern CNC production machines along with support equipment and quality assurance tools for the goal of training new Native American people in machinist skills."

This is a one-year training program similar to vocational school, however the students are considered apprentices and receive pay during their training.

"After the first few months of training at the Oshkiimaajitahdah site, the students will advance to more in-depth training at the Wells Academy in Bemidji, MN, Wells said. "Following their year of training, Wells Technology will assist students in securing full-time employment in the industry of their choice, and hopefully, many will want to stay at Wells Technology where many jobs are open and employees are needed."

On Nov. 10th at 11:00 am, there will be a "ribbon cutting" event at the Oshkiimaajitahdah Center with many guests attending to see and learn about the potential of this new project. "I would like to invite all who have interest to attend and see first-hand how the this new educational development is helping our Native American brothers and sisters receive skill training for a career in modern industry," concluded Wells.
