Barbara Louise Staples, 70, of Cass Lake, MN, the last of 11 brothers and sisters, died Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji.

Funeral Services will be held at Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN. A wake will begin 5:00pm, Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the Veteran's Memorial Building, and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Fairbank's Mission Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji

She was born on December 21, 1950, the baby of 11 children, in Cass Lake, MN, the daughter of Charles Robert Staples Sr. from Onigum, MN, and Margaret Charwood Staples from Squaw Lake, MN. Barb grew up around the Mission area until her family moved to Minneapolis in 1970. Barbara had her daughter Mary Elizabeth in 1968, who gave her her only Grandson Marcus Staples. She had her son Jeremy in 1972, her only son. Barb was also Godmother to Karen Staples. Barb met Jim Crandall around 1980 and spent the rest of her life with him. Barb and Jim traveled a lot and had almost 40 years of blissful safety meetings together.

Barbara joins her parents Charles and Maggie, son Jeremy Perleberg, siblings Charles Robert Jr., Betty Ann, Delores, Catherine "Mish", Cecelia M., Roberta J., Samuel James Sr., Naomi S., Richard "Dick," Patrick L., numerous nephews and nieces.

Barb leaves behind her oldest daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Johnny Rimerez) Staples of Cass Lake, MN, God Daughter Karen "Hopper" (David Swanholm) Staples of Fargo, ND, Significant Other Jim Crandall of Cass Lake, MN, and her fur baby Daisy.

Active Casketbearers will be: Jim Kingbird, Richard Smith Sr., Curtis "Koolah" Brown, Rob Adams Sr., Dennis Staples, Thomas Adams, David Swanholm, with Alternates: Roger Davis, Christopher Cross, Justin Littlewolf Jr., Michael "Julio" Staples, and Dennis Staples Sr.

Honorary Casketbearers will be: Deb Adams, Jim Crandall, Carol Kelly Staples, Karen "Hopper" Staples, Deanna Wind, Cheryl Staples, Patty Kingbird, Brenda Morrow, and Jenna Adams.
