Felix R. "Handsome" Black

Felix R. "Handsome" Black, 19 of Newtown ND and the Spirit Lake Nation passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Newtown.

Funeral Services will be at the Recreation Center on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.

Felix Ryan, son of Sheldon R. Black Sr. and Monica Baker was born on June 30, 2002 at Devils Lake ND. He grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation, attending school at Four Winds until the fall of 2021 when he attended Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College in Newtown.

Felix loved playing basketball and spent many hours teaming up with friends at the Fort Berthold Recreation Center to play the game. He enjoyed listening to "his music" and spending time of friends.

Handsome loved his family most of all. While living on the Spirit Lake Nation, he did everything he could to help his Grandma Donna battle her health and mobility issues. After her passing, he moved to Newtown to be with his special auntie Shiann Youngbird and her special friend Chris Montclair. Most people thought of Felix as a quiet, shy young man, but not when he was with Shiann. He was a "social butterfly". He loved anytime family gathered together, especially time with his brothers and sisters. His family was so important to him. He loved them with all his heart.

Handsome is gone from our lives, but not from our hearts and memories. He will be forever missed and forever loved.

Those left to mourn his passing include his mother Monica Baker; sisters and brothers Destanee Black, Sheldon Black Jr., Dannee Baker, Donnell Baker, Jazzlynn Straus and Skyleight Jetty, half brothers Reginal Black and Jeremiah Black; grandpas and grandmas Florestine and Kenneth Dunn, Carol Black, Boyce Baker, Sharon and Perry Mudgett, Charlie YellowWolf; great grandparents Evangeline White, James Baker and Audrey McArthur; aunts and uncles Glenda Shiann (Chris) Youngbird, Robin (Robbie) Severance, Cheyenne WhiteTail, Tristan DeMarce, Nicole DeMarce, Joe (Cara) Cavanaugh, Brandon Black, Elmer (Yolanda) White Jr., Kyle White, Kris White, Richard (Samantha) Cavanaugh, Ira Jones, Crystal White, Kathy White, Krista (Sage) White, Kristy White, Denise White, Angelita White, Simone White, Simona White and Jen White; special cousins Kaimber Ramsey, Eastyn Ramsey, Oaklynn Ramsey, Sunshyne Montclair, SkyRose Charging, Gunner Severance, Phoenix Severance, Nolan Standish; special friend Trina and many other dear relatives and friends.
