Wanda Lee Graves, Niigaanikwe which means "Leading Woman", age 71, of Red Lake, MN and the Eagle Clan started her spiritual journey on Sunday, October 24th, 2021, from Red Lake IHS, Red Lake, MN. Wanda was born on September 12th, 1950, in Red Lake, MN to Frances and Kenneth Graves.

Wanda grew up and went to school in Minneapolis, MN.

Wanda married the love of her life, Harold Graves, Sr. on January 10th, 1976, in Minneapolis, MN. Wanda and Harold were blessed with 5 children.

Wanda enjoyed going to pow wows, traveling, shopping, doing crosswords, watching her HDTV, watching the hummingbirds, and most of all she liked to sit and visit. Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed watching her kids play softball and watching the grandkids in all their sports. Wanda always had a bag of trash to go to the bins to watch the bears. Her love for Chinese food would take her back to the cities just to enjoy a good Chinese meal.

Wanda will be reunited in the spirit world with her parents, Frances and Kenneth Graves; husband, Harold Graves, Sr .; brother, Bruce Graves; sister, Debbie Lynn Graves; grandson, Anthony James Graves; and all of her grandparents.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Wanda are her sons, John Graves of Red Lake, Harold Graves, Jr. of Redby, and Kenneth Graves of Redby; daughters, Debbie Graves of Redby, and Star (Kendall) Kingbird of Redby; brothers, Patrick (Michelle) Graves, Kenneth John Graves, and George Graves; sisters, Janet Ramos, Jackie Graves, Mary Graves, and Rita (Larry) Murillo; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren including her great-granddaughter, Indy Kingbird whom she was raising.

A traditional wake for Wanda will begin Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the New Redby Community Center in Redby, MN and continue until her traditional service on Friday, October 29th, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. with Waa-maajaa' iwed Steve Jackson. Those helping to lay Wanda to rest will be Harold "Tre" Graves, Brandon Graves, Vincent Graves, Adam Graves, Michael Graves, Joseph Graves, Joshua Graves, and Izaiah Graves. Honorary pallbearers will be Orville Bower, David Bower, Daunte Steele, Darryl Jones, Gordon Fairbanks, Jeff Jourdain, Danny Graves, Donald Kelly, Robin Kelly, Tommy Ranallo, Larry Ranallo, Leroy Staples III, Stephanie Graves, Toni Weaver, Elaine Morales, Bev Baribeau, Missy Strong, Marlys Smith, Elizabeth Kettle, Darlene Thunder, Jan and Julius Thunder, Cheryl Fairbanks, Carol Staples, and Annabell Kingbird. Inurnment will be at the Family Burial Grounds in Redby, MN at a later date.
