Vernon Harry Vannett, age 73, of Cass Lake, MN journeyed to the spirit world on Sunday, October 24th, 2021, from St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. Vernon was born on July 13, 1948, in Deer River, MN the son of Margaret (Roy) and Randall Vannett.

Vernon joined the U.S. Army June 4, 1968, in Minneapolis, MN. During his time served he was stationed in Germany and earned a National Defense Service Medal and a Sharpshooter award.

Vernon loved spending time outdoors and going for nature walks. He enjoyed playing cribbage, reading, doing crossword puzzles, going to the casino, and drawing, he was quite the artist. He enjoyed his peace and quiet.

Vernon is reunited with his parents, Margaret and Randall Vannett; brothers, Frank Allen, Joseph Bellenger, Leroy Bellenger, James Vannett; and sister, Patricia Vannett-Boyd.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Vernon are his daughters, Sharon Vannett and Toni Pemberton both of Cass Lake, MN; sisters, Constance Wahpepah of Minneapolis, MN, and Molly Vannett of Cass Lake, MN; grandchildren, Tianna white, Justin white, Kay White, Jennifer Connor and Ryan Connor; great-grandchildren, Myna White, Aaliyah Connor, Parker Connor and A'lakai Barrett; and the mother of his children, Bernice Pemberton.

Vernon's services will be Friday, October 29th, 2021, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN. Urn bearers will be Ryan Connor and Justin White. Honorary urn bearers will be Harris Morris, of his family and friends. Inurnment will be Friday, November 5th, 2021, at the Leech Lake Veterans Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN. Military Honors accorded by Leech Lake Honor Guard Cass Lake, MN.
