Clifford Clarence Hardy

February 17, 1946 ~ October 24, 2021 (age 75)

Clifford Clarence Hardy, 75, "Enimajiwed" which means "Person Going Over the Hill", of Ponemah, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Sunday, October 24th, 2021, from the Red Lake IHS Hospital in Red Lake, MN. Clifford was born to Constance (Johnson) and Clarence Hardy on February 17th, 1946, in Ponemah, MN.

Cliff grew up in Ponemah and attended the Ponemah Elementary and Red Lake High Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17. After being discharged from the Army, Clifford became a police officer, then a judge. He was also a Tribal Rep for Ponemah and was the General Manager for the Warroad and Red Lake sites. His most recent place of employment was as a Ojibwe Language Teacher with the Red Lake Emersion Program.

Some of Clifford's favorite activities were golf, bowling, pool, softball, and basketball. He also loved fishing and hunting. Cliff not only an avid sportsman, but he loved to watch them too; he especially loved watching football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and golf. He loved spending time with his great grandkids, and he enjoyed giving a helping hand to who ever needed it. Cliff had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and was a great role model for all who knew him. He will be missed by all who knew and met him.

He is welcomed to the spirit world by his wife; Myrna Hardy, daughter; Karen Goodteacher, parents; Constance and Clarence Hardy, sisters; Pat and Sharon Hardy, brother; Clayton Hardy and several nieces and nephews.

Those left behind to carry on his legacy are his sons; Robin (Savannah Martin) Begshisown of Red Lake, Thomas and Cameron Hardy both of Ponemah, daughters; Jerry Lynn Begshisown of Ponemah, Shari (Tyrone Schoenborn, Sr.) Hardy of Little Rock and Celeste (Anthony) Erickson of Red Lake, brother; William (Brenda) Hardy of Ponemah, sister; Shirley (Gary) Spears of Ponemah, son in-law; Roland Wilson, Sr., 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandbabies and numerous other relatives and friends.

An overnight wake for Clifford will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 29th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah. Waa-maajaa'iwed is Steve Jackson. Pallbearers for Clifford will be Robin Begshisown, Gary Long, Kenny Iceman, Herman Donnell, Rudy Johnson, Tyrone Schoenborn, Jr., Tyson Deserly and Memphis Hardy-Martin. His honorary pallbearers are Shawn Hardheart, Jr., Ron Perkins, Timothy Goodteacher, Savannah Martin, Jacob Begshisown, Joaquin Schoenborn, Tara Kingbird, Joyce Brown, Randall "Jiggs" Kingbird, Julia Schoenborn, Chelsea Deserly and all his co-workers from the Emersion School. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah, MN following his Saturday services.
