First Voices Radio Hosted by Tiokosin Ghosthorse Moves to Radio Kingston WKNY 1490 AM and 107.9 FM in Kingston, New York

Show will air Sundays at 7 to 8 pm Eastern Time

(KINGSTON, N.Y, Oct. 7, 2021) - "First Voices Radio," hosted weekly by Tiokasin Ghosthorse, is moving to a new home at Radio Kingston, WKNY in Kingston, New York. First Voices Radio's debut live broadcast will be Sunday, October 10 from 7 to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. WKNY is heard locally on 1490 AM and 107.9 FM and streams at https://radiokingston.org/.

"We are excited that WKNY - on Lenape/Munsee land - will be the new flagship station for First Voices Radio," said Jimmy Buff, executive director of Radio Kingston. "In a time of climate crisis, we're in continued need of the Indigenous perspective Tiokasin and his guests will bring to this much needed conversation."

Tiokasin Ghosthorse, Lakota, is the founder, executive producer and host of First Voices Radio. Liz Hill, Red Lake Ojibwe, is the producer. Now entering its 30th consecutive year of weekly live programming, "First Voices Radio" - all Native hosted and all Native produced - explores global topics and issues of critical importance to the preservation and protection of Mother Earth presented in the voices and from the perspective of the original peoples of the world.

About Tiokasin Ghosthorse

Tiokasin Ghosthorse is a member of the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation of South Dakota. Tiokasin is an educator, musician and international speaker on peace and the global issues facing Native peoples. He has a long history in Indigenous activism and advocacy. Tiokasin is the founder, host and executive producer of the internationally syndicated "First Voices Radio," now in its 30th year of broadcasting.

A master musician of the Lakota flute and a teacher of magical, ancient and modern sounds, Tiokasin performs worldwide and has been featured at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, Lincoln Center, Madison Square Garden, Apollo Theater, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the United Nations, as well as at many universities and concert venues internationally, including, Stockholm, Sweden with the renowned Swedish musician Ebbot Lundberg. In 2016 Tiokasin received a Nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize from the International Institute of Peace Studies and Global Philosophy.
