Andrea Joe Hernandez (Mindiimoyen), age 23, proudly and recently graduated from a treatment program. She was eager and enthusiastic about her new lease on life. Although she had a newfound energy for life, she was unable to resist the negative forces that called her.

The spirit of opioids took Andrea from this realm and it is a tragedy to the family and community that loved her so deeply. She would want those that she loves to make different choices and to learn from this loss.

In her youth, Andrea was very athletic and made sport of showing out the boys. She was playfully teased by many because she was a similar way in the dating world, too.

She was a lover of family, friends, Taco Taxi, and love. With a large laugh and a sense of humor that could light up any room, she never had to try hard to make others feel happy around her. Andrea had a beautiful smile and swag about her that made it easy for others to gravitate towards her. In both her youth and adulthood, Andrea was known to build the strongest bonds with friends and family. Andrea was someone that people could count on, especially the kids. Andrea loved the kids! Her playful spirit, tenacity, genuine persona, and her value of loyalty are among the pieces of Andrea that made her a true diamond in the rough.

She was known for her sense of style and wearing hickey necklaces; unapologetically being Andrea. While we shouldn't hesitate to laugh while remembering all of the good, fun, and wild memories with Andrea Joe, one of her siblings said,

"I want her to be remembered for her ability to stay positive despite life's adversity".

Andrea took a little of each of us with her on her journey, and she would want each of us to keep all of her goodness in our hearts as we carry on with ours.
