Eligio "Licho" Saldaña Flores 88 years old of Cass Lake, MN. Passed away 09-18-2021 at the Bemidji Sanford Hospital with his children by his side. Licho was born on 12-01-1932 to Enriqueta Medina Saldana & Pioquinto Prado Flores in Batesville, Texas on a small farm that his parents owned.He had 8 brothers, Juan, Abel, Pedro, Reynaldo, Guillermo, David, Daniel & youngest Jose Angel. They were farm country boys who worked to help their family to survive back in those days when times were hard in the early 1900s.They couldn't finish school because they had to help their father work in the fields picking potatoes, onions, carrots & spinach. He always said "let the kids play man! They'll never be kids again.!". As a young boy he watched his mother work hard everyday cooking and cleaning for everyone, he wished that he could help her/wanted her to rest. He recalled only going to 2nd grade. His wife Laura and him studied for their G.E.D at the Adult Education Center back when it was on the East end in Cass Lake, MN. He always liked studying The Dictionary to learn new words. Also worked many different jobs in his life.. In his retirement life he stayed active; swam, fished, and played basketball. One year he trained to box at the Leech Lake Vets building here in Cass Lake, his kids helped him put eye contacts in to fight in the ring which he was very excited to do. He was a very independent person who was self taught to do everything by himself like auto mechanics and carpentry. When things seemed to be working he always said "now we cooking"... "with Crisco."

All he wanted was to be with his kids & grandchildren.

He is survived by his family whose presence brought him joy, his... children are, Gerald W. Brown of Deepwater, MO, Brandon S. Brown, Johnny R. Jackson, Sabrina C. Jackson, Bo E. Jackson of Cass Lake Michael J. Cioci Jr of Bemidji, MN , Cecelia, Orion and Jeremiah of Cass Lake, MN. His Great Grandchildren, Peyton & Laylyn Alcock of Cambridge MN, Jayden Brown of Braham, MN Eva, Bella, Tessa & Boon White of Deepwater,MO. Skye M Gotchie Jr, Douglas M Gotchie of Cass Lake MN...His Brothers Daniel S. Flores of Billings, MT, David S. Flores of Milwaukee, Wi, Guillermo S. Flores of Crystal City, Texas. And Many Many nieces and nephews/relatives
