Michael Cletus OneBear Jr.

Michael Cletus OneBear Jr.

November 11, 1979 - September 15, 2021

Mike Jr. was born on November 11, 1979, to Michael OneBear Sr. and Bessie "Vicki" IronHawk. The family resided in the Tokio and Woodlake areas before permanently moving to Devils Lake.

Mike Jr. attended school at Four Winds (Tate Topa) and the Devils Lake Public Schools. He attempted to earn his GED, but sadly that goal was never achieved. He did earn his Commercial Driver's License from Cankdeska Cikana Community College. Mike Jr., his dad, and his whole family were so proud of his accomplishment. In his younger years, you would find Jr. with his uncles, and they would cruise around or work on cars together. One of his favorite hobbies was making and painting model cars and trucks.

Mike met and married Julie Vonalman, and from this union Colton, Jayden, Jade, and Jace were born. Together they called West Fargo, Starkweather, Sheyenne, and other places home. Colton was lovingly adopted by the Jones family of Maddock. Mike Jr. loved his children and his family with all his heart.

Mike Jr. was so proud driving the big rigs for Miigwech Trucking Co. out of Grand Forks. As his health continued to decline, he was no longer able to do what he loved the most. Throughout his many hospitalizations, Mike still managed to keep his sense of humor and joke around with everyone. Mike's family is sad to see him go so soon, but they find comfort knowing that he is no longer a prisoner of his addiction. Mike Jr. is finally free, no more pain or suffering, and he is reunited with Mike Sr. to watch over the rest of the family.

Mike Jr. is survived by his children Colton Jones, Jayden, Jade, and Jace OneBear; loving mother Bessie "Vicki" IronHawk, Grandmother Elizabeth Lawrence; sisters Tammy, Lindsey (Patrick), and Fawnda (Roland Jr.) OneBear; Aunts Sharlene IronHawk, Darlys IronHawk, Darcie IronHawk, and Pamela Hopkins-Rainbow; Uncles Roudie IronHawk and Jason IronHawk; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving dad Michael Cletus OneBear Sr.; maternal grandfather Benedict IronHawk Sr.; paternal grandmother Mary Agnes Hunt-Hopkins; adoptive paternal grandparents Jacob and Martha OneBear; uncles Marvin IronHawk, Roger IronHawk, Myron IronHawk, Benedict IronHawk Jr. and Duane IronHawk; aunts Bernadine IronHawk; cousins Rocky Littlewind, Darnell IronHawk, Cherelle SwiftHawk, Tenarrie SwiftHawk Suggs, Talayah Brown Burns; and niece Baby Schmid.
