Charles "Charlie" Edward Thompson, "Waabash kwa ana kwad" which means "White Cloud", age 33, of Duluth, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on September 5th, 2021, from St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN. Charlie was born on August 30th, 1988, to Agnes Christine Davis and Arnold George Thompson in Minneapolis, MN.

Charlie grew up and was raised in Duluth and Red Lake. He attended and excelled in the Bemidji area schools, which is where he met the mother of his children, Ashley Sayers. Together they had four daughters, Sierra, Carmen, Jozalynn and Roxanne. Charlie had many friends and family who he loved to spend time with. He was a terrific father, a fierce brother, a great friend and a beloved son. Charlie liked to go to the movies, listening to music, and going to the casino. He also liked to go fishing and spearing, loved his pets, enjoyed playing poker and the occasional bonfire. Charlie was into all sports, was an avid mechanic, absolutely enjoyed cooking; especially for his kids but above all he loved spending time with his children. Charles had a one-of-a-kind intellect and a brilliant spirit. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Family that welcomes Charlie to the spirit world are his grandparents, Dora Raisch, Mike Davis, Marlene May and Frank Thompson; uncles, Ron Thompson, Jay Burris, Mike Burris and Frankie Thompson; cousins, Rainee Hill and Adrian Burris and his honorary brother Jacob Hunter.

Those left behind to forever cherish his memory are his parents, Agnes Davis and Arnold Thompson; daughters, Sierra, Carmen, Jozalynn and Roxanne; brothers, Mike, Jeff, David and Lance Thompson; aunties, Armella Neadeau, Lisa Thompson, Shirley Davis, Wanda and Teresa Burris and Jocelyn Jackson; uncles, Joe Burris and Anton Thompson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

An overnight wake for Charlie will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8th at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Buck Jourdain will be his Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers in Red Lake will be Travis Schoenborn, David Clark, Mike Thompson, Darrell Paddy, Dean Paddy, Victor White and Jerry Rolo. Charlie will then travel to the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake for his second overnight wake beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 9th and will continue until his 11:00 a.m. traditional service on Friday, September 10th. Allen Hardy will be his Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers in Cass Lake will be Mike Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Jerry Rolo, Marcus Burris, Mike Burris and DJ Burris. His honorary pallbearers are Agnes Davis, Arnold Thompson, Anton Thompson, Lisa Thompson, Armella Neadeau, Art Greene, David Davis, Dale Greene, Shadow Bressette and Eli Burris. Interment will be in the Morgan Cemetery at Cass Lake, MN following his Friday services.
