Minnesota Historical Society Reinstates Indoor Face Mask Requirement for the Safety of Guests and Staff

For the continued health and safety of guests and staff, the Minnesota Historical Society is reinstating a face mask requirement regardless of vaccination status, at all indoor historic sites, museums and spaces beginning September 1, 2021.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Minnesota Department of Health, the state is experiencing a steady increase in COVID-19 cases, driven by the highly-contagious Delta variant. It is in response to this surge, the contagious nature of the variant and the health and safety of guests and staff, that the Minnesota Historical Society reinstated its face mask requirement.

The face mask requirement applies to all guests in addition to staff, volunteers, interns, contractors and vendors, both COVID-19 vaccinated and unvaccinated. The face mask is required to cover the nose and mouth. Free masks are available at the entrance to historic sites, museums and offices.
