Digital Marketing Coordinator (DMC)

Position Overview (Basic Purpose of Position): The Digital Marketing Coordinator, under the supervision of the Superintendent, works to develop and implement the district's internal and external communications strategy to continually enhance the relationship between the district, staff, students, parents/guardians, and community by providing consistent, reliable, timely and engaging information via a variety of formats. This position develops and distributes district communications in print and electronic formats; serves as a contact for news media, staff, public, and assists in managing the flow of information for projects and events. As assigned the DMC will work with the technology department to resolve any technology related issues for the district, the position will also be a trainer for staff, students, and parent/guardians of ISD#38.

The Digital Marketing Coordinator has excellent written and oral communication skills; can produce clear, compelling, and accurate content-copy, photography, and video, on tight deadlines with close attention to detail, audience, goals, messaging, and tone. They can effectively utilize traditional, current, and advanced communication tools and technologies to enhance effective public relations. The Digital Marketing Coordinator has excellent project management skills, an upbeat and collaborative approach, and the ability to work well with staff, interdepartmental teams, students, parents/guardians, and community.

Digital Marketing Manager Duties and Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in the development and implementation of the district's communication and community engagement plans.

• Creates regular, relevant written and multimedia content for websites, social media, e-newsletters, and other communication channels.

• Seeks out and facilitates promotion and publicity of the district and school events, news, and stories.

• Attends school board meetings and manages the digital presence of the district.

• Continues to refine and maintains our social media presence while maintaining websites, content, and social media pages.

• Serves as contact for news media relations. May serve as district spokesperson as assigned by the Superintendent.

• Establishes and maintains content consistency, adhering to style guidelines, branding and voice.

• Monitors local, state, and national news related to educational issues.

• Identifies critical conversion points and community concerns that will influence the district direction.

• Coordinate response to citizens' concerns brought to the School Board meetings.

• Provide level 1 technology support to schools as assigned.

• Support interactive technologies in the classroom.

• Provide end user support for workstations, peripherals, and internet capable devices.

• Other duties as assigned.

Digital Marketing Manager Skills:

• Ability to write clear, concise, grammatically, and factually correct copy.

• Ability to summarize and communicate district goals, policies, practices and programs to staff and the community effectively and concisely.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as work effectively in a team setting while meeting deadlines timely.

• Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations, project management and problem-solving skills to coordinate and complete multiple simultaneous projects.

• Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.

• Creating and maintaining relationships

• Supports staff during emergencies, working closely with the Superintendent and executive team to disseminate accurate information in a timely fashion.

• Work positively and proactively with individuals and groups.

Digital Marketing Manager Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or related field or equivalent experience.

• Proven working experience in digital marketing or communications, particularly with native communities.

• Working knowledge of internal and external public relations programs.

• Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, grammatically, and factually correct copy in standard print, business and speech styles.

• Proficiency with current technology for performance duties; including graphic design and publication/print software.

• Ability to work individually, in partnerships, and with a minimum of direction at a variety of simultaneous professional tasks and responsibility levels.

• Previous work with native populations preferred.

• Knowledge of the Red Lake community

• Exceptional analytical and critical thinking and judgement skills

• Demonstrable experience leading and managing databases, email, social media, and/or display advertising campaigns.
