Ardella June Bailey, 83, of Redby, MN died Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at her home.

Services will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the new Redby Community Center in Redby, a lunch will be held at the Redby Community Center after the service. A wake will be held from 4-8pm, Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Redby Community Center. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

Ardella was born August 24, 1937 in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Reinhard and Tillie (Smith) Holthusen. She was raised and educated and educated there and in Grygla and Goodrich. She married James Bailey, Sr. in 1955 in Anaconda, Mont. She worked at the Red Lake Hospital, she owned the Fourtown Bar and worked in a bakery. She enjoyed baking, hunting, spending time at the casino, gardening, canning, sewing, knitting, loved doing arts and crafts and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Jerry Bailey (Stacy) Bailey of Fisher,

also daughter Rebecca Groves of Grygla, MN,

7 grandchildren Jessica (Mike) Johnson of Miliken, CO,

Jason (Amber) Bailey of Crookston,

Tameeka Groves of Four Oaks, NC,

Rick Groves of Wahpeton, ND,

Kendra Clark of Redby,

Craig French of Red Lake,

Austin French of Bemidji,

7 great grandchildren,

5 sisters include Phyllis Sumner of Red Lake,

Blanche Heileg of Rhinelander, WI,

Audrey Johnson of East Grand Forks, MN,

Shirley Ferrell of Council, Idaho,

Marion Lussier of Red Lake,

brother Delwyn Holthusen, Sr. of Ponemah,

and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Bailey, Sr., son James “Harvey” Bailey, Jr., daughter Sherry Clark, grandson Patrick Clark, and special friend Rusty Donnell.

Active urn bearers are Rosie Barrett, Lori English, Beverly Bailey, Marion Lussier, Carol English Hunt and Lorraine Chaboyea.

Honorary urn bearers are her grandchildren.
