Still the champion

It’s been called one of the greatest moments in Olympic history. The year was 1964, the place, Tokyo, Japan and the runner was Billy Mills.

Mills, Oglala Lakota, was not even considered a potential medalist for the 10,000 meter race but he surged in the last lap to capture the gold.

Nearly 60 years later he remains the only U.S. citizen to win gold in this race.
