Sherrie Renee Hardesty, 49, passed away on Sunday August 1, 2021 after battling many health problems.

She was born to Dennis and Janet (Boness) Drift on April 21, 1972, and then adopted by Joan and Willard Hawkinson of Bear River.

Sherrie enjoyed life to the fullest from fishing and the outdoors, to spending time with family and friends. She liked to have fun and enjoyed fashion and looking her best. She volunteered for many years at the church in Duluth, helping others in need. Sherrie adored animals and she named a much-loved kitten “Sunshine” after her favorite song; “You are my Sunshine”. Sherrie was in the process of becoming a foster parent for homeless kitties.

Sherrie will be missed very dearly by many in the community as well as her friends and family members.

Sherrie is survived by her four children: Stephanie, Brittany, Dylan and Destiny; father Willard (Beverly) Hawkinson of Apache Junction AZ; brothers: Leonard (Veronica) Hawkinson of Kelly Lake, MN; Vernard (Cindy) Hawkinson of Warba, MN; Randy Hawkinson of Virginia, MN; sisters: Cheryl Hawkinson of Musa, AZ; Charlene Lokken of Hibbing; Denise McGlynn Enfield of CT; Allison Drift of Orr; Laurie Kay Drift; and Lisa Drift; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her father Dennis Drift; mothers Janet Drift and Joan Hawkinson; and sister Camille Helgerson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00AM at the Nett Lake Baptist Church, Nett Lake, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. To leave an online condolence visit http://www.mlakerfuneralhome.com
