PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Ombimindwa Gidinawemagaganinaadog provides and arranges an array of culturally based intensive helping and healing services to families, that is supportive and understanding of individual, family, and community needs; engaging families through a strength-based lens that is family centered, respects the dignity and worth of families, and promotes respect and self-determination. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, implementing Ombimindwaa's Intergenerational Family Wellness Practice Model, policy, procedures, and goals of the American Indian Child Welfare initiative, offering guidance and supervision to team members, ensuring compliance and timelines are met, identifying training needs, and capturing and reporting data for Intake, Screening, and Response. Reports to Director, full-time position w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Oversee Intake & Response Unit

• Provide strengths-based assessment response for child maltreatment intakes

• Responsible for ensuring referral services are made to case managers

• Provide referrals to kinship care foster care workers

• Foster and Maintain Relationships

• Responsible for quality assurance measures and unit achieving goals of reducing out of home placements

• Responsible to provide team member supervision

• Provide Agency representation in Red Lake Tribal Court

• Facilitate staff meetings, share Agency goals, and quality assurance reviews

• Responsible for initial child services

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, Anishinaabe child rearing customs

• Knowledge of family safety and risk factors in the Red Lake community

• Skilled in utilizing critical thinking skills prior to making decisions

• Skilled in listening, engagement, and building rapport with team members and families

• Ability to prioritize issues based on immediacy, urgency, critical nature and handle complex, emergent situations

• Ability to maintain self-care, be self-aware and self-regulate

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prefer Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, business administration or related field; or 4 years' experience in Supervisory or Management role

• Ability to pass criminal background check

• Ability to pass drug screening and remain free from substance abuse issues during employment

• Must possess a valid driver's license throughout employment

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug test and Background Check
