Roland Gene Iceman, Sr., Gini-Wi-Gwan "Golden Eagle Feather" member of the Kingfisher Clan, age 70, of Ponemah, MN, passed into the Spirit World on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Roland was born in Red Lake, MN on June 26, 1951 to Alma Spears and Robert Iceman. He made his home in Ponemah and worked as a carpenter for Red Lake Housing for many years until his retirement in 2015. Roland enjoyed fishing and polka music. He also loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins while nosing off on his cell phone.

He is survived by his wife, Mardel Iceman; daughters: Zorana (Luis) Iceman, Zenaida (Larry) Iceman, Rolanda (Keith) Iceman; sons: Roland Iceman, Jr., grandson whom he raised, Roland Iceman III, Aaron (Michelle) Jones and Eliot Cloud; sisters: Phyllis Iceman and Carol Martin; brothers: Kenny (Olive) Iceman, Ervin (Sherilyn) Iceman, Darrell (Janice) Iceman and Ralph (Carol) Spears, Sr.; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Iceman and Alma Spears; great-grandparents: George and Agnes Spears and Mildred and Max (Sayers) Iceman; sisters: Rosalie Iceman, Darlene Cloud, Priscilla Iceman; brothers: Robert Iceman, Jr. and Byron Iceman, and granddaughters: Lily Iceman and Shelby Iceman.

The wake will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah and continue until the service at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 17, 2021. The Spiritual Leader will be Zach Early. Active casketbearers will be: Robert Rushman, Mike Iceman, Erv Iceman, Jr., Frank Rosebear, Ira Spears, Larry Johnson, Delmer Martin, Kelly Iceman, Sr. and Mickey Nelson. Alternates will be: Darwin Iceman, Travis Martin and Kevin Martin, Sr.. Honorary casketbearers will be: Georgia White, Zenaida Iceman, Zorana Iceman, Eugene Perkins, Kathy French, Kristy Iceman, Kiylea Iceman, Luis Narvaez, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interment will be at the Iceman Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah. Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service, Walker, MN.
