Alliance for a Better Minnesota Announces New Executive Director

Marissa Luna becomes organization’s first Mexican-American Executive Director

MINNESOTA - Today, Alliance for a Better Minnesota (ABM) announced that Marissa Luna will take over as the organization’s new Executive Director. This is the first time that ABM will have a Mexican-American person serving in this role.

“I am thrilled and grateful to be tasked with running the largest and most effective political communications organization in Minnesota,” said Marissa Luna, Executive Director of Alliance for a Better Minnesota. “I am excited to continue building on Alliance for a Better Minnesota’s long list of accomplishments, holding conservatives accountable, and helping make sure that every Minnesotan can thrive. As a Mexican-American woman, I look forward to using my privilege to continue advocating for and lifting up other women and people of color.”

Marissa has been with ABM for over four years, previously serving as Deputy Director and Communications Director. In her time at ABM, she has overseen content creation for the organization’s statewide media programs, which have resulted in resounding victories for progressive champions and issues.

“I’m so excited for Marissa to take the lead at Alliance for a Better Minnesota,” said Joe Davis, who has served as Alliance for a Better Minnesota’s Executive Director since 2015. “I am confident in her ability to advance the organization’s mission and continue making ABM a nation-leading organization.”

Davis will move to a newly created position at ABM, serving as the organization's Senior Advisor for Research and Innovation. In this role, he will lead in developing cutting-edge research on how to best advance progressive values and messages.
