DONALD "Don" JAMES HARDY SR, Manido Binis Inini, of Pine Point, MN, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Essentia Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Donald was born on May 9, 1947 in Red Lake, MN to Dorothy Brown Hardy and Walter Hardy. He grew up in the Red Lake area as a child. He and his brother Lawrence attended boarding school in Chamberlain, SD. Donald graduated from South Central High School in the Twin Cities with the class of 1967. On June 26, 1967 he enlisted in The United States Navy. He served in Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged from United States Navy on March 11, 1971.

After he was discharged from USN, he met the love of his life Juanita "Penny" Vivian Jones. They were married in 1972, until her passing in 2011. They were blessed with 3 children.

In 1971, He was employed by Honeywell, as a Tool and Die Mold maker employee. In 1981, he then went to work for the Red Lake Police Department. On June 8, 1985, he graduated from the Department of the Treasury Federal Law Enforcement training center in Marana, AZ. He worked at Red Lake BIA Law Enforcement Agency, Red Lake, MN, Uintah and Ouray BIA Law Enforcement Agency, Fort Duchesne, Utah, Browning BIA Law Enforcement Agency, in Browning, Montana, Crow Agency BIA Law Enforcement, Crow Agency, Montana where he retired from Law Enforcement after 15 years of service.

He Later went to school to be a Truck Driver and traveled the United States. Due to health reasons that forced him to move close to home, where he found employment with the Shooting Star Casino in General Maintenance. He worked for the casino for a couple of years until health issues forced him to retire.

He enjoyed going to powwows, played Old Timers Soft Ball for Pine Point, and did Tae Kwon Do in his younger days. He was a foster parent for almost 13 years to a wonderful grandson/son Brayden. He enjoyed going to the casino, spending time with family and Loved Frybread.

Surviving Don are his younger brother, Lawrence Hardy; Grandson/son, Brayden Rednest; Daughters, Danielle (Jayme) Harper, Thomasa Hardy; Son Donald Hardy Jr; Grandchildren, Jeremy Mitchell, Jacob (Mia) Harper, Jayme Harper Jr., and Joseph Harper, Nicholas Bellrock, Chelsey White, Mason Hardy, Randy Hardy, Victoria Hardy Bellrock, and Amber Hardy Bellrock; 3 great grandchildren; Many Special nieces and nephews and grandchildren; The Pine Point Jones Family; Allen Hardy, Robert Kettle and Randy Kettle.

He joins his wife Juanita V. Jones-Hardy; his parents Dorothy and Walter Hardy; Brothers Howard Hardy, and Walter Hardy; sister Esther Hardy; Special Niece's Paula Jones, and Lorena Jones; Special Nephews and grandsons Thomas Jones III, Delmas Jones, Marcell Basswood, and Josh Jones.
