A MESSAGE FROM RED LAKE CONSERVATION LAW ENFORCEMENT

We would like to remind everyone to not feed the bears, as it is Prohibited and Punishable by Red Lake Tribal Resolution 99-18

Feeding bears will keep some dependant on people, causing more harm to the bear population. You are not helping them. Every year bears hang out on the side of the road waiting for people to feed them, causing many accidents, where more often then not the bears die. This is because of the learned behavior of waiting for those scraps, so people can get the "cute" pictures.
