Anna M. Mischke

Anna M. Mischke, 83, of Moorhead, MN died Friday, April 16, 2021 at Arbor Park Assisted Living in Moorhead, MN.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Red Lake Center. A wake will begin on Friday, April 23, 2021 and go until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Red Lake.

Anna was born on October 7, 1937 in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of James and Anna (Weise) Gurneau. She attended Pipestone, Flandreau, and Wahpeton boarding schools. She married Floyd Haugen December 29, 1956 in Bagley, MN; they made their home in Alvarado, MN where they raised a large family. They later divorced. She married Dean Mischke. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, cooking, and playing cards. She loved to be with her family and friends. She was a generous and giving woman to many. She had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. Everyone called her Grannie Annie and she was also known as "Mom" to many.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Haugen and Dean Mischke, her sons, Edward Lee Gurneau and John Wesley Haugen, daughter, Ann Margaret Haugen, grandson Jacob Wayne Haugen, her sisters Margaret (Don) Senogles, Mami (Chester) Morrison, Genevieve (Walldon) Tverstol; her brothers Theodore (Mami) Gurneau, Wilford (Evelyn) Gurneau and Manuel Gurneau. She is survived by her 7 children, Nadine (Ron) Haugen, Peggy Haugen, Shelly (Mike) Nickaboine, Scott (Robyn) Haugen, Laura (Brent) Davison, Connie Haugen, and Mark (Kim) Haugen, 23 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
