July 7, 1980 ~ March 18, 2021 (age 40)

Yvette Jo Bellanger-Tourtillott, "Makoonz" (Little Bear of the Bear Clan), age 40, of Detroit, Michigan and formerly from Red Lake, MN began her journey to the spirit world on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 from her home. She is the daughter of Caroline "Carrie" Bellanger and Thomas Tourtillott and was born on July 7th, 1980 in Minneapolis, MN.

Yvette grew up in the Minneapolis, Red Lake and Duluth areas. She was a very funny and comical woman who loved laughing at other people's jokes often until she cried. She had a free spirit and loved her culture and very much liked exploring other cultures and practicing different religions. Yvette liked going to powwows and traveling; when she had the chance to visit Red Lake, she liked to spend her evenings watching the sunsets at the lake. She loved her kids, her family, and her friends and when she wasn't able to visit them, she loved writing them letters. Her stories and spirit will be dearly missed.

Yvette is reunited with her son; Onzie Bellanger, mother; Caroline "Carrie" Bellanger, sisters; Lorena and Violet Bellanger, grandparents; Ardelle and Antone Bellanger, Sr. and cousin Michael Bellanger.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her children; Amire Bellanger of MI, Ahlena Bellanger of Moorhead and Kimiko Amerson of MI, father; Thomas Tourtillott of WI, brothers; Ron Gurno of Duluth and Jason Tourtillott of WI, sisters; Valerie Dodge, Miranda Gurno and Lavonne Bellanger all of Duluth, Christina Boswell and Charleen Tourtillott both of WI, numerous aunties and uncles, nieces and nephews and many friends.
