Angela Jo Benjamin "Bezhigogaabawiijkwe", 57 of Cloquet, died on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Community Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on June 1, 1963, the daughter of Franklin Benjamin and Elsie Reynolds. Angela was a stay-at-home mother that took great pride in raising her children and grandchildren. She was passionate about her family, enjoyed watching them grow and reach milestones over the years, while being their biggest supporter.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Donna Pardun and Rose Benjamin; brothers, Franklin Benjamin, Jr. and Calvin Benjamin; and granddaughter, Myra Benjamin. Survivors include her husband, Ken DeFoe, Jr.; son, Ken DeFoe III; daughter, Deanna (Chris Hall) Benjamin; sisters, Cynthia Benjamin and Ruby Benjamin; brother, Timothy Benjamin; her grandchildren, Kenny IV, Winnie, Whitney, Wraylin, CJ, Kingston, and Dreamah; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

A Traditional Wake will begin at 6:00 pm Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in the Aazhoomog Community Center, 45749 Grace Lake Rd., Sandstone, MN and continue until the 10:00 am Traditional Funeral Service Thursday, March 25, 2021. Burial will be in the Aazhoomog Community at the Cemetery near Stevens Lake.
