Nevis Lady Tigers upset Lady Warriors 71-64 in Red Lake as regular season ends - P5

Red Lake's JV ends their season with 43-33 win over Nevis; Parents Appreciation Night also held between games

RED LAKE, MN - The Lady Warriors, coming off their loss to Badger-Greenbush-Middle River, 66-61, on Friday night, hosted Nevis on Saturday night and played solid until the last five minutes of the game.

Playing pretty much even throughout the match with with several lead changes by both teams, Nevis took a 10-point lead with a little over 5 minutes to play and Red Lake was unable to only get within 7-points as time expired.

Red Lake led at the end of the first half 38-37.

Ava Isaacson led all scorers with 22 points for Nevis, Makenna Frazier added 19 and Kaylee Bessler had 11.

Mimi Beaulieu led the Lady Warriors with 20 points, TeAnndra Pemberton-Kingbird added 13 and Kelanna McClain hit for 11.

Red Lake finished their regular season 8-5 and will play #5 seed Clearbrook-Gonvick Lady Bears on Friday March 19, 2021 at 7 PM in Red Lake in the second round of the Section 8A Girls Basketball Tournament. The Lady Warriors beat Clearbrook-Gonvick twice during the regular season, 81-68 and 70-45. The winner will face either #1 Fosston in Fosston, or host Blackduck or Win-E-Mac, on Saturday, March 20th. Section 8A Championship is scheduled for March 26th at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
