Operation Warm comes to Red Lake and Ponemah

The Minneapolis Fire Department joined with Red Lake Fire Department and volunteers from the Red Lake Nation Propane staff and police officer K9 Sgt. Harold Graves Jr., to provide coats to children in need on the Red Lake Reservation through an organization called Operation Warm ( https://www.operationwarm.org/ ).

Operation Warm is a national nonprofit that manufactures brand-new, high-quality coats for children in need. They partner with compassionate individuals, community organizations, and corporations across North America to provide emotional warmth, confidence to socialize and succeed, and hope of a brighter future through the gift of a brand-new coat.

They were at the Red Lake Fire Station from 11am - 1pm today February 25th 2021. The sizes provided were 2T up to 14/16 boys and girls.

They will be at the Ponemah Fire Department on Friday also, assisting with the coat drive there.

They ask that you wear your masks, and volunteers will come to your vehicle for sizes, and they will do the rest.
