Louis Albert Junco, 86, of Cass Lake, MN died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Sanford Fargo Medical Center.

Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, Feb. 27. 2021 at the Cass Lake White Earth Office located in the old American Legion building in Cass Lake. A wake will begin at 3 pm Friday, Feb. 26th and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Fineday Family Burial Grounds in Pennington, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji assisted the family.

Louis was born May 8, 1934 in the White Earth Hospital in White Earth, MN, the son of George Junco and Mary J. LaQuier. He was raised and educated in Pennington, MN. At the young age of 4, he was an orphan and at the age of 12, he joined the "Fineday" family in Pennington, and helped raise many children in their families. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. He returned to Minnesota where he worked as logger for a number of years. He moved to Cass Lake and has resided at Leech Lake Heritage Manor for over 23 years.

He is survived by his grandchildren Marilyn Wind, Diane Fineday, Dawn Fineday, Natasha Ocampo, Jaymz-Dawn Desjarlait, Jamie Lee Staples, Cassandra Kingbird, Karen Wind and special friend Molly Van Nett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel/Joe Fineday, James/Delores Fineday, George Fineday, Sr. Glenn/Anna Fineday, Percy/Eunice Fineday, Henry/Annie Fineday, John Fineday, Barbara Fineday, Peggy Fox, Roberta Fox, Patricia Fox, Robert Fox, Charles Kingbird, Sr., Aabenooji Kingbird-Bushey, Sheryl Fineday- Hill, Michael Sargent Kenneth Sargent, Katherine Fineday.

Active Casketbearers are Kenneth Staples, Jr., Alfred Desjarlait, Sr., Derek Kingbird, Jr., Dennis Staples, Jr., David Kingbird, Amador Ocampo, Sr., Devin Fineday, Gordon Fineday, Colin Rushman, Ryan Staples, Sr. Donavin Fineday, Travis Gale, Robert Fineday and special friend Molly Van Nett.

Honorary Casketbearers are his friends at Leech Lake Heritage Manor.
