Red Lake's JV edged by Panther JV 42-36 in earlier game

Red Lake Warriors out-gunned in 88-67 home loss to Cass Lake Panthers

RED LAKE, MN - The Red Lake Warriors came off a 77-71 win, their fourth win in a row, over Pine River on Friday, February 5, 2021, to face a fast Cass Lake-Bena Panther team on Tuesday, February 9th, and were outscored in both halves 45-33 and 43-34 respectively.

Cass Lake improved their season record to 6-2 with the 88-67 victory, while the Warriors dropped to 4-2.

Leroy Fairbanks led the Panthers with 32 points, Kayden Lee hit for 20 and Dominic Fairbanks added 13.

D. J. Holthusen led Red Lake with 23 points, Gerald Kingbird Jr. netted 19 and Aaron Chaboyea had 12.

Cass Lake will host Pine River on February 11th, travel to Nevis on February 12th and travel to Walker-Hackensack-Akley on February 16th.

The Warriors will host Clearbrook-Gonvick on February 12, travel to Nevis on February 26th and host Kelliher-Northome on March 1st.

In an earlier game, Cass Lake's JV were also winners over Red Lake, 42-36.

And while the Warriors were hosting the Panthers in Red Lake, the Lady Warriors lost their first game of the season to the Lady Panthers, 67-55. The Red Lake Girls were leading 35-25 at the half of that game.
