Linda Lou Omen, age 69, of Red Lake, MN, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Red Lake Hospital in Red Lake.

Linda was born on May 23, 1951 in Red Lake, MN, to William and Pearl (Morrison) Omen. She worked in Thief River Falls Casino as a Cage and Vault Supervisor for over ten years. Linda found her passion in 1999, when she began working for Equay Wiigaming as a Womens Advocate. She was excellent at her job and had a reputation for being reliable, considerate, friendly, knowledgeable, committed to her work as well as being thought of as the wise "auntie" to her co-workers. She retired in 2018, after serving her community for nearly twenty years.

Linda also had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed watching cooking shows was a wonderful cook and baker who loved gifting her homemade fudge and cookies during the holidays and for special occasions. She also enjoyed going to the Casino. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. Linda was compassionate, caring and will be remembered for her honesty and kindness toward anyone she met.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Randy Riebe; special niece/daughter, Alaina Parkhurst; siblings: Meryle Sayers, Mary Omen and Steve Omen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Elenor Annette, Patsy Blue, Adrian Omen, Edith Omen, LaVern Omen and William "Charlie" Omen, Jr .; special friends: George Stately, Francis "Boog" Downwind and Janet Graves; her niece, Nita Bonga and her beloved cat, Madonna.

The wake will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Red Lake Center in Red Lake and continue until the service at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. There will be a Prayer Service at 7P.M. on Monday evening. Casketbearers will be: James Parkhurst, Jr., Kevin Spears, Dan Brun, Dana Bonga, Lucas Bonga and Adrian Omen. Alternates will be: Donald Brun, Gerald Spears, Donnie Bo Brun and William Parkhurst. Honorary casketbearers will be: Shari Smith, Irma Beaulieu, Karen Neadeau, Shirleen King, Barb Beaulieu, Cheryl Wind, Shieleen Omen, Irene McGraw, Maysa Lussier, Marlene Spears, Olga Hanson, Vickie Stately, Rose Cloud, Vicki Fineday, Becky Cook McGraw and the Equay Wiigaming Staff. A private family interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Red Lake at a later date.
