James P. Hill

James Hill, 75, of Rice Lake, Minnesota died on February 1, 2021 at Sanford Bagley Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rice Lake Community Center in Rice Lake, Minnesota. A wake will begin at 4:00 p.m. on the evening of Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Community Center. Interment will be held in the spring at St. Philip's Episcopal Cemetery in Rice Lake, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born on March 17, 1945 in White Earth, MN to George and Emily (Bigwind) Hill. He obtained his GED and attended the VoTech to learn welding and auto mechanics. He could fix anything and loved to work on cars. James married Andrea Roberts and they raised four boys together. They later went their separate ways. James enjoyed life in the Northwoods, including spending time outdoors driving, fishing, and berry picking. He got a kick out of thrift shopping. He played guitar for many years. He enjoyed his longtime friend, Pastor Tim Brown. James was a caring and kind person who took care of anyone who needed it. He always made sure everyone was okay. He especially loved to visit his granddaughter Tomi and bring her a candy bar every day.
He is survived by his sons, Tom (Jessi) Hill, Robert Hill, and Robin Hill; his step-son, Chuck Roberts; his 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; his siblings, Gloria Crissler, Sharon Mcling, and Frank Kahoomboush; his special friend, Leta Rabideau; and many nieces, nephews, and other loved family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emily Hill; his sisters, Delores, BobbiAnn, Dorothy, and Emmarose; his brother, Billy, Alvin, and George, Jr.; and his special niece, Emily Stevens.
