CHEMICAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

OPEN: January 27, 2021-Until filled

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Prepare and provide nutritious meals as well as ensuring a safe, clean and sanitary environment. Reports to Supervisor, full-time position (90-day probation period), salary; $14.00 w/ $1.00 increase after probation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Prepare food by sanitary regulations and established policies and procedures

• Review menus before preparation of food

• Prepare meals by planned menus

• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance

• Serve food be established portion control procedures

• Prepare food for therapeutic diets by planned menus

• Prepare food by standardized recipes and special diet orders

• Do administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports and submit to the supervisor as required

• Participate and help in departmental studies and projects as assigned

• Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information to assure patients' rights are protected

• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary

• Work with IHS Dietitian and implement recommended changes as required

• Assure that all personnel follow established Infection Control policies and procedures as required

• Recommend to the Supervisor the equipment and supply needs of the department

• Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Supervisor immediately as required

• Verify invoices for the purchasing of food, supplies, equipment and submit to Supervisor

• Process diet changes and new diets as received from a dietitian

• Assist in the purchasing of food supplies

• Help in maintaining the dietary department in a safe and sanitary manner

• Assure that safety regulations are followed at all times by all personnel

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D Certificate

• Must have Cooks certification

• Must be neat, well-groomed and prompt

• Must be able to prepare food for large numbers utilizing specific recipes

• Must participate in mandatory alcohol/drug testing when called upon

• Must be familiar with confidentiality rules and regulations

• Must have a current and valid Minnesota Driver's License and proof of insurance.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
