KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (Jan. 27, 2021) - Travois, a Certified B Corporation focused exclusively on promoting housing and economic development for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities, established the Travois Tribal Scholarship Program in partnership with the American Indian College Fund to support 10 tribal college students in 2021.

The $25,000 scholarship program will support eight students pursuing careers in affordable housing and economic development and two students pursuing an arts degree.

“Every day, we see firsthand the difference that dedicated professionals make in Native communities,” said Elizabeth Glynn, Travois CEO. “Our clients have filled their communities with beautiful homes, successful businesses and created thousands of jobs. These leaders are an inspiration to us all. In their honor, I am thrilled to partner with the American Indian College Fund to support the next generation of Indian Country leaders.”

Cheryl Crazy Bull, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund, said, “On behalf of the College Fund, I want to share appreciation for the unique focus of Travois’ Scholarship Program. We know that building family wealth through strategies such as housing programs, infrastructure, and cultural practices is critical to the health and well-being of tribal nations. We are excited that students will be supported as they fulfill their dreams of better lives for themselves and their families.”

Scholarship application information will be available in early 2021 through the College Fund.
