WASHINGTON, D.C. - The day is here. Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the United States.

But unlike inaugurations past, in which Indian Country eagerly participated, very few will be able to witness the event in person. The threat of violence following the attack on the U.S. Capitol on June 6 has resulted in unprecedented closures in the nation's capital.

Yet it will still be a busy day for Biden and Kamala Harris, who will be sworn in as the 49th Vice President of the United States during a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol at noon.
