Lockdowns are Dangerous Experiment-Public Harmed by "Cases"; Double Standards

CCHF says it’s time to get back to freedom—and Thanksgiving

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF) is challenging the renewed lockdowns emerging nationwide in advance of America’s most cherished holidays.

“There’s absolutely no reason for governors to put the American people under lock and key for Thanksgiving. Never in the history of this nation, not even during the Spanish Flu pandemic, did governments order their people to close their homes and their businesses. Governors are putting people, state economies, vital businesses, and the future of freedom itself in jeopardy,” said Twila Brase, president and co-founder of CCHF.

While officials point to rising cases as the rationale for lockdowns Brase explains why this is faulty rationale: “Government officials have not been forthright about the wrongful use of PCR tests to diagnose Covid-19. The New York Times found up to 90% of positive tests are actually negative because there’s not enough virus to infect the person or anyone else. In short, many confirmed “cases” are not cases. Why aren’t officials talking about this?

Furthermore, as explained by the Journal of Clinical Microbiology, “PCR assays cannot differentiate between dead and viable organisms.” What the PCR test finds may be viral debris. Another study in Clinical Infectious Diseases looked at positive samples to find out whether the virus could be cultured from the sample. While 70 percent of samples with a cycle threshold of 25 or below can be cultured—the virus is alive and can replicate and grow— less than 3 percent of the tests using cycle thresholds above 35 can be cultured. Yet many laboratory PCR tests use cycle thresholds above 35. White House coronavirus task force member, Dr. Anthony Fauci, highlighted this problem in an interview in July:

“If you get a cycle threshold of 35 or more…the chances of it being replication competent are minuscule . . .So I think if somebody does come in with 37, 38, even 36, you gotta say, you know it’s just -- it’s just dead nucleotides, period.”

Brase also points to double standards prominent in lockdowns: “For example, Minnesota Governor Walz’s executive order prohibits family members of different households from gathering together, but family members from hundreds of households can walk around together at retail stores. People from many households can also gather for sobriety and mental health support groups, but family members, the group many Americans find most supportive, are not permitted to gather unless they’re willing to be charged with a crime and face jail time and financial penalties.”

Lockdowns are unprecedented. According to Greg Ip, writing in The Wall Street Journal, “In response to the novel and deadly coronavirus, many governments deployed draconian tactics never used in modern times.” He also writes, “Prior to Covid-19, lockdowns weren’t part of the standard epidemic tool kit.” In fact, “During the 1918-1919 flu pandemic, some American cities closed schools, churches and theaters, banned large gatherings and funerals and restricted store hours. But none imposed stay-at-home orders or closed all nonessential businesses.” During the 1957 flu pandemic, “even schools stayed open.” In fact, the CDC’s 2017 community mitigation guidelines for pandemic flu “didn’t recommend stay-at-home orders or closing nonessential businesses even for a flu as severe as the one a century ago.” Perhaps that is because lockdowns don’t work, as a July 21, 2020 Lancet study and a November 11, 2020 military study found.

“Lockdowns are a deadly and unconstitutional experiment on the American people,” said Brase. “Lockdowns are killing businesses; they’re killing hopes and dreams and child education. They have led to a sharp decline in incomes and a sharp rise in suicides. The elderly are dying early, abandoned and alone. People who need care have avoided it until it is too late. And given that we don’t actually know how many real cases there are because of the faulty use of PCR tests, deaths from lockdowns may be higher than deaths from Covid-19.

“It’s time to end these harmful lockdowns and allow families to join together to celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s time to get back to freedom,” urged Brase.
