SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, progressive health advocacy organization Our Stories. Our Health. issued the following statement in support of Governor Tim Walz's new executive orders to slow the spread of a worsening pandemic and safeguard Minnesotans and our healthcare system:

"Governor Walz did the right thing tonight and his decision will save lives," said internal medicine and pediatrics physician and Our Stories. Our Health. Board Co-Chair Dr. Hannah Lichtsinn. "We're approaching nearly uncontrolled spread of COVID-19 and the upcoming weeks are going to be even more difficult, but these new measures will help us keep the pandemic from getting even worse. We applaud the Governor for listening to the voices of healthcare professionals and people all across Minnesota and doing what needed to be done to keep us safe. His actions tonight give us a fighting chance over the holidays to once again flatten the curve and prevent our hospitals and clinics from being overrun. Now we need Congress to step up and provide the necessary aid so the Minnesotans who are out of work and small business owners can ride out the surge."
