Hopi Tribe Issues Executive Stay-At-Home Order As Coronavirus Cases Rise
November 11, 2020
Hopi leaders have issued an executive stay-at-home order for all residents of the Hopi reservation due to an upward trend in coronavirus cases.
Residents living on Hopi land are required to stay in their respective place of residence, unless they are essential workers or there is an emergency. Over the last fourteen days, tribal officials say two dozen cases were reported on the Hopi reservation. Non-essential businesses have been mandated to close, and restaurants are limited to takeout. The trend follows a statewide and even nationwide trend of rising COVID-19 cases.
