Navajo Nation warns of 'uncontrolled spread' of COVID-19 within several communities

The Navajo Nation on Wednesday announced there was "uncontrolled spread" of COVID-19 within more than 20 of the tribe's communities, including several in Arizona.

The tribe's health department on Nov. 4 issued a health advisory warning residents of the spread, which was based on COVID-19 cases between Oct. 16 and 29, according to a news release from the Navajo Nation's executive branch.

Communities in Arizona included Cameron, Leupp, Dilkon, Ganado and Round Rock, among others. The advisory would remain in effect "until the risk and cases decline," the news release states.
